Cullen McKnight Gimmick

Cullen McKnight. 6'2, 300 pounds. His burgundy hair is long in the front and short on the sides and back. It hangs, covering the scar on his cheek. Cullen has scars all over his body. His eyes are a deep green and when he smiles, you are able to see his rotten filed down fangs.

Cullen McKnight comes from the Moundsville Institute for the Criminally Insane. Before that, not much is known. There are stories and rumors of the many reasons he was put in Moundsville. Some say that he had committed unspeakable violent crimes against those who he later said was being "judged for their sins". Others say that he was thrown in due to his open masochism. It has also been said that Cullen punishes himself for his past.

While in Moundsville, Cullen met Surgeon General #9 and the rest of what would become, The Wrecking Crew. Though there have been many teams in wrestling with that name, this brotherhood was one of the most infamous. Inside the institution was a mad house. The insane would fight the insane and the orderlies would fight the insane. In this midst of the war within the inmates and also the war with the staff, Surgeon General had filed down Cullen's near rotten teeth and as a group of brothers, not inmates, they fought there way to the top and were the most feared out of the place. Win or lose, they always took something with them.

Cullen also met someone. Her name was Avalyn. Avalyn had not talked since she had been in the institution. After meeting Cullen though, she had only talked to him. This would be the happiest times of his life.

After the institution had closed down, Cullen and the rest of The Wrecking Crew went to Japan and learned to wrestle. Under the wing of notorious Yakuza leader Yamamoto Ryuzaki, the boys had honed their skills and made themselves more violent than ever before. Their mentality was stay calm, be vicious. With their new found control, they dominated the Japan wrestling scene. Over the years, they had started to splinter and eventually Cullen came back to the States. Not much is known what was going between the time that he left Japan and started in the USA, but many believe he was homeless and had eventually found his way to Avalyn once again.

After many years, Cullen was approached by a promoter, and, maybe in a random moment, was hired to wrestle in the same organization as his long lost brothers.

One federation after another, The Wrecking Crew left a time-line of destruction. In all of this, Avalyn stayed out of the scene until finally, to bring more edge to The Crew, she was brought in and helped dominate the dirty backstage politics, ultimately taking down the powers that be in one fell swoop. This would be the last time Cullen would be happy.

After the fall of that organization, Cullen and Surgeon had broken apart from the rest and annihilated the tag scene in their next federation. In one of the most important matches of their careers, they were going against old teammates from a previous federation with the tag-titles on the line against their championship titles to hold all of the gold. Before the match, Cullen McKnight got a phone call. It was an old friend of The Crew. He informed Cullen that Avalyn had gone back home and, while on the beach, watching the waves, closed her eyes and didn't wake up. Cullen was crushed. His point was to go out to the ring and break everyone and everything that he came across. Ultimately, the match was stopped and thrown out but, the GM had, instead of letting each team keep their respective titles, stripped The Wrecking Crew of their tag-team titles and gave them to the World Champ and his lackey. This would be the beginning of the end in Cullen's battle in this federation.

Cullen disappeared for awhile. He had taken Avalyn's body back to the asylum they had met and took her to the underground passage they would used to wheel bodies out of the morgue. The fall before, he had burnt down the asylum in frustration and all that was left was ruins...and Avalyn, laying beneath the rubble along with his tears and a single purple rose.

Cullen later came back to form a federation of his own with the help of some old friends. it had it's run and after certain bad decisions and backstage politics, it had to be closed down.

Earlier this Summer, Surgeon General #9 tracked down Cullen and told him that he was coming to No Limit Wrestling. Cullen eventually followed. Another chapter in the story.
